Pirate doctors?

I write the Christmas 2011 Editorial for the BMJ (BMJ 2011;343:d8101) Three planks of the Pirate Party’s platform that matter to doctors.

Although the Pirate Party was initially concerned with file sharing, it has expanded its focus to include three areas that are especially relevant to doctors: reform of copyright law, respect for patients’ right to privacy, and the abolition of drug patents.

Billy G sa...

This part has been in the pirate party since 2006 more or less.. we have allways frowned upon the way medical patents are done today, since the public funds nearly 90% of the research anyway.

And the right to privacy is for Everyone who is not an elected official (atleast when it comes to work related stuff for elected officials). But its good that you point out it applies to patients to, to many ppl just here pirate party and shut down their listening organs.. :P

and ofc reform of the copyright laws is key..
